  • Uncluttered design, great workflow, excellent and simple tools.
  • Not all cameras support tethered mode, runs slowly on ageing Macs.

  • Abstract:  Organizing your photos with more options at a better price. When Apple first launched Aperture two years ago, it received a reasonably warm welcome from those who knew how to do more than just remove red eye from their photos. But it was also a bit of ...

  • Aperture makes a bold claim to be a total post-production application for photographers´ - but, remarkably, it doesn´t disappoint. Aperture has consistently fallen in price since its launch a few years ago (Aperture 1 cost around £350, whil...

  • Improved user interface, a significant speed increase and an in-built retouching brush
  • Lacks Flickr and web album uploaders
  • Before Aperture 2, there was a case for choosing Adobe’s Photoshop Lightroom, especially if not using a particularly high-powered machine. Photographers working under both Windows and Mac might prefer Lightroom’s cross-platform compatibility...

  • Lower price, Quick and efficient, Pleasant interface
  • Few new features
  • Aperture is a Mac-only program, but anyone using a PC might want to keep reading, just to see how Apple approaches image cataloguing. The features in Apple Aperture 2 are much the same as those in Aperture 1.5 and, for that matter, Lightroom. Images ar...

  • Plenty of new features, less power hungry
  • Minimal correction features
  • This is a major upgrade of Aperture and with over 100 new features and a completely refreshed back-end it’s worth investing in

  • Abstract:  The first version of Apple’s photo management and manipulation tool Aperture showed a lot of potential but was marred by one major flaw: it was slow even on an up-to-date Mac. This was made worse when Adobe released Lightroom, an application that ra...
