Exactly how much zoom do you need? Fujifilm’s latest SLR-alike packs enough optical power to spot Jessica Simpson’s talent from space, a massive 18x lens that spans true wide-angle to extreme telephoto. It’s got the best face detection s...
Although the S8000fd looks like an SLR, don’t expect it to handle or shoot like one. Focusing and zooming take a little longer than you’d like, and 8MP images can be heavy on noise (in low light) and distortion (at telephoto settings).
Divide its price by its zoom and this Finepix is the cheapest digital camera in the world. But divide talent by ego and even Paris Hilton looks like a steal. A smart choice when flexibility is more important than the best possible picture quality.Fujif...
Abstract: Remember that moment in music or swimming lessons when you achieved some big-kid milestone that bumped you up to “intermediate” level? Suddenly, the yellow-belt phase of life had begun and you could start replacing frustrations and daydreams with a re...
18x stabilized zoom and good overall construction, Fast face detection system, 1 cm macro mode, Electronic viewfinder relatively nice to use (for once!), Very satisfactory video mode
Significant smoothing of images beyond 400 ISO, Lack of sharpness on the edges of images, No RAW mode, Autonomy could be better (4 alkaline batteries), No exposure bar when aiming

Abstract: Fujifilm has produced a range of good SLR-styled ultra-zoom cameras over the past few years, and the FinePix S8000fd is its best yet. Its the first to include optical image stabilisation to counteract blur from camera shake. The competition has off...
Abstract: Big zooms must mean big business to camera makers - just about everyone has at least one in their range. And Fuji, one of the largest manufacturers of digital compact cameras, has four different models. Its latest is the FinePix S8000fd which, as the c...
Abstract: The Fuji Finepix S8000 is an 8 megapixels digital camera. Its main attraction is the extra long 18x optical zoom lens. This is the longest lens you can find on a consumer digital camera at this moment in time. The long lens is ideal for zooming right ...
Abstract: Keenly priced, but outclassed by the FZ18. The S8000fd is Fujis first superzoom with optical image stabilisation. They seem to have nailed it first time, giving reliably blur-free photos where other cameras falter. Performance isnt great, taking ...
