  • If you want an amazing Windows Phone 8 handset that Nokia doesn't make, the 8X is the handset for you. It's sexy, slim, feature-packed and specced to the nines with a price that's nice to match...

  • Lovely balanced feel; 4G connection; Beats Audio "headphone amp" helps to provide tons of sound for wired earphones;
  • No microSD; 16GB storage with only 12GB free isn't really much these days; A deafening camera and audio bug: don't take pictures with headphones in; Not enough apps in the ecosystem;
  • If you're after a great Windows Phone 8 experience but haven't been at all intrigued by the big bulky 920 put forth thus far by Nokia, HTC's 8X could be the solution you're looking for.We're still not sure about that camera bug that seems to leave us deaf...

  • Fresh and attractive design, Excellent screen, Slick and fast performance
  • Limited internal memory & no card slot, Poor ergonomics due to long shape, Limited Windows Phone app ecosystem
  • The Windows Phone 8X by HTC is one of the most attractive smartphones we've reviewed this year. It offers excellent performance thanks to the slick Windows Phone OS and has a great display. However, the 8X is let down by a lack of expandable memory, some...

  • Abstract:  Nokia's not the only smartphone manufacturer getting a bite at the Windows Phone 8 pie. No, sir. HTC also wants in on the action, and it's going to get it with the HTC 8X — a curvy new addition to HTC's Windows Phone fraternity.AU Editor's Note: this is a...

  • The HTC Windows Phone 8X's edgy design joins forces with a top-of-the-line processor, LTE speeds, and great call quality
  • This phone's 8-megapixel camera took a few poor pictures, the buttons are too flush, and the OS lacks some key apps
  • With top specs and a striking design, HTC's Windows Phone 8X makes a smart choice for anyone ready to dive into the Windows Phone OS....

  • We haven't tested either handset yet, but on paper, Nokia's Lumia 920 is looking like a better buy for Windows Phone enthusiasts who want to get on board with the new version than HTC's Windows Phone 8X. Nokia's handset supports 4G speeds in Australia, w...

  • HTC's Windows Phone 8X is a delightful phone with excellent performance, decent battery life, a gorgeous screen in a unique form factor. It has the promise of being one of the best phone's on the market, but is disadvantaged by a half-baked app store and a lack of Nokia's proprietary apps. Nevertheless, the 8X has a great camera, best-in-class sound quality with Beats Audio and a powerful headphone amplifier, and a number of features that make it worth your time. Considering it is being heavily discounted on both Rogers and Bell at the moment, it may be worth looking into....

  • Abstract:  From the outset, it's clear that HTC is taking a bold approach with the 8X. Before you've even set eyes on it, it sits in a modest recycled cardboard box and immediately gives the impression that this is not going to be your average smartphone.We've got t...

  • Light, practical size, WP8 is slick, Decent camera, Fast, Good edge definition with video
  • Average sound quality, Colour lacks punch, Poor battery life, Lacking in apps
  • It's more practical than the Lumia 920 but, crucially, doesn't perform as well in the key areas of audio, video and web browsing. Still a decent addition to the initial WP8 roster, but we expect better will come from HTC and Windows. Follow whathifi.com...
