Nice selection of dogs, looks very realistic, animals respond to voice and seeing your face, lots of tricks, fairly easy to make money, lots of customization options, StreetPass options, lots of ways to interact with the animals and the microphone sensitivity seems better this time around. You can recycle found items to make special toys.
Can’t really do much with the cats, compared to the dogs. Fewer cats varieties to choose from, compared to dogs. AR in the Obedience contests seems a bit tacked on. Can get repetitive after a while. Also takes a long time to unlock other dog breeds.
As adorably addictive as ever; novel use of 3D visuals; nice variety of pups and kittens; StreetPass, augmented reality, and pedometer features offers fun flourishes.
Limited cat selection; easy to lose the 3D effects; not a whole lot new to see or do for those familiar with the franchise.
