  • The Samsung BD-P1600 Blu-ray player doesn’t include any major extras, but Samsung has done an exceptional job incorporating a good set of features and keeping the performance level satisfactory in a Blu-ray player priced at less than $300. It makes a f...

  • Very good imaging on Blu-ray discs; Netflix and Pandora streaming.
  • Disappointing imaging on DVDs; annoying flap covers front panel controls.
  • Samsung BD-P1600Samsung’s BD-P1600 Blu-ray player delivers good-looking Blu-ray playback and adds a host of multimedia goodies (including BD-Live, Netflix On Demand, and Pandora streaming to your TV and home-theater sound system) previously found on...

  • Abstract:  The BD-P1600 is well placed among entry-level players. You do find better machines of course, but they also cost more.

  • Abstract:  All in all, the Samsung BD-P 1600 is an excellent - and cheap - Blu-ray player for entry-level users. The easy operation and speedy disc drive impressed, but the drive isn't exactly quiet, and photos play..

  • Abstract:  Consumer High Definition televisions (HDTV) hit the market just over 10 years ago. The amount of data used for HD content takes up much greater space than that of Standard Definition (SD) content. From that need came Blu-ray discs (BD). Blu-rays name...

  • Surprisingly good video quality on an assortment of tough material, Effortless handling of a wide variety of stateoftheart features, Netflix online streaming sure is convenient
  • HDquality Netflix streaming easier said than done, Wireless networking is a can of worms, but why not just include a gig of flash memory so BDLive would work without a flash card?
  • Although positioned at the lower-end of their current crop, the Samsung BD-P1600 is still a versatile player offering the latest features (Netflix, Pandora, BD-Live, DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD decoding) and performance that the competition would be hard-...

  • Although the BD-P1600 isn't our favorite player there is a lot to like about it, and more importantly, it is an improvement over the BD-P1500. The best part is that even though it is better than last year's, you're going to pay less for it too. We real...

  • Netflix and Pandora streaming, Quick startup times, Excellent 1080p video processing, Inexpensive
  • No internal memory for BDLive, thumbdrive required, Upconverting is a little sketchy
